Motorcycle Riders Association Cranbourne GP Run to the Motor Bike GP on Phillip Island in 2009
Crowds in Cranbourne
MRA Cranbourne GP Run
Officially called the 'MRA Cranbourne GP Run' this is a great excuse for old mates and new friends to get together and have a great time.
It did not matter whether you rode a Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Honda and even a Ducati, you were welcome. No matter what country your bike was made in, be it American, Italian, German, etc. you were well represented.
The reason for this gathering is due to the fact that the Australian Grand Prix is being held at Phillip Island racetrack tomorrow.
The authorities have got their heads together over the years and this GP Run has evolved into the massive event that it is today.
It is possibly the largest collection of motorbikes and I might add anything that remotely reassembles a Motorbike to be held in Australia.
Estimates of somewhere between 5 thousand and 10 thousand have so far been offered.
Believing that pictures are worth a thousand words I won't bore you with waffle. I'll just offer you the pictures of a great day that everyone enjoyed!

What the run was all about:-
Australia's own Casey Stoner starting from Pole position, won the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, held at the spectacular Phillip Island race track.
Winning for the third year in a row, he outran World Champion Valentino Rossi, to clinch the victory.
Riding a Ducati and wearing gear with special Australian flag livery to mark his 24th birthday last Friday, Stoner thrilled a huge crowd.
The three-day total attendance was given as over 105,000 spectators ! not too shabby at all!.
To show how close the racing was, Valentino Rossi riding a Yamaha closed the gap to under a tenth of a second at one stage.
Casey, in the end, won by less than 2 seconds.
I can't wait till next year.
